Michelle Bohnes is a young fashion and costume designer with a strong passion for craftsmanship, textile manipulation, and upcycling. In her work, she focuses on creative forms of expression in which textile techniques merge with innovative thinking. Michelle studied fashion design in Berlin and completed her Master of Arts in 2023. During her studies, she completed a costume internship at the Volksbühne Berlin and worked freelance as an assistant on various costume projects (Goldoni Children’s Theatre, Florida TV). Her artistic work is characterized by a sustainable yet artistically experimental design approach, repeatedly resulting in new fusions of fashion, costume, and art. Several of her designs have been presented in various exhibitions and at Berlin Fashion Week. Since June 2024, Michelle has been working as an assistant costume designer at Theater Oberhausen, where she has created her first independent costume designs for the productions ONLY GOD CAN CANCEL ME and GAMETIME.
